It is finally official. After months of suspense, suggestions from users and more, search engine giant and Android maker Google has officially announced that Android N would be called as Android Nougat!
Google has had a tradition of naming its Android OS versions after desserts and Android N is no different. If you are unfamiliar, Nougat is a confectionery made with sugar and could include roasted nuts, and sometimes fruit and whipped egg whites. It was rumoured that the new Android N would be named Android Neyyappam, after the Indian sweet-dish but Google went ahead with Android Nougat.
We are not yet sure as to what numeric version will be assigned to Android Nougat when it arrives the OS is already in beta testing.
