Last year, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi took the wearable devices market by storm when it launched the ultra-affordable Mi Band. And today, the company has announced the launch of the Mi Band 2 which comes with some much needed upgrades.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 has been revamped with a 0.42 inch OLED display with anti-fingerprint coating and scratch-resistant glass. The display will now show time, steps and also heart rate, on the touch of a physical button. The Mi Band 2 also goes on to support customised alerts. For example, it can give a slight nudge when you have been sitting for a long time and need to walk for a while.
The band is waterproof with IP67 rating and with improved pedometer users will now get more accurate data. The company reiterates that the material used in the band is now more skin friendly and the band weighs just 7 grams. Battery backup is said to be of about 20 days on standby. It will come in Black colour but as always, buyers will have the option to buy bands in Green, Blue, Orange and more colours.
Priced at Yuan 149 or Rs.1500 approx, the Mi Band 2 is now available to order in China with sale scheduled from June 7th. And we expect the global roll out of the Mi Band 2 soon.
